This Force Majeure Policy explains how Mirror, Signal, Success responds when events beyond our reasonable control prevent or disrupt services.

This policy applies to all lessons, bookings, test day use, website services, and contractual obligations.

1. What Is Force Majeure?

A force majeure event is any event outside our reasonable control that prevents or significantly delays our ability to deliver services.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Extreme weather conditions
  • Flooding, storms, or natural disasters
  • Road closures or serious traffic incidents
  • Vehicle breakdowns beyond reasonable prevention
  • Illness or injury of instructors
  • DVSA disruption, strikes, or test centre closures
  • Government restrictions or emergency measures
  • Power, internet, or system failures
  • Acts of terrorism, civil unrest, or emergencies

2. Effect on Lessons & Services

Where a force majeure event occurs:

  • Lessons or services may be cancelled, delayed, shortened, or modified
  • We will take reasonable steps to notify affected learners as soon as practicable

3. Rescheduling & Refunds

  • Where possible, lessons affected by force majeure events will be rescheduled.
  • Refunds are not guaranteed and are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
  • Where a refund is issued, it is limited to the value of the affected lesson only.

No additional compensation is payable for losses arising from force majeure events.

4. Test Day & DVSA Events

Where a driving test or test day booking is affected by a force majeure event:

  • Vehicle use may be withdrawn for safety or operational reasons
  • Lessons may be rescheduled subject to availability
  • No liability is accepted for DVSA decisions or cancellations

5. Website & Systems

We are not liable for service disruption caused by:

  • Hosting outages
  • Plugin or software failures
  • Third-party service interruptions

Access will be restored as soon as reasonably possible.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mirror, Signal, Success is not liable for losses arising from force majeure events.

This includes indirect or consequential losses such as missed tests, travel costs, or loss of earnings.

7. Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
