Student Code of Conduct

Mirror, Signal, Success Student Code of Conduct Last updated: 01 January 2026

This Student Code of Conduct sets out the standards of behaviour expected from all learners receiving services from Mirror, Signal, Success.

This applies to:

  • All lessons
  • Test day bookings
  • Use of instructor vehicles
  • Website accounts and communications

1. General Behaviour

Learners are expected to:

  • Treat instructors with respect
  • Follow all instructions given during lessons
  • Act responsibly and safely at all times
  • Comply with road traffic laws and safety guidance

Failure to meet these standards may result in lesson termination or service withdrawal.

2. Safety & Fitness to Drive

Learners must not attend lessons if they are:

  • Unwell
  • Fatigued
  • Emotionally distressed to the point it affects driving
  • Under the influence of alcohol or drugs

Instructors may refuse or terminate lessons where safety is compromised. Such lessons remain chargeable.

3. Language & Conduct

The following will not be tolerated:

  • Aggressive behaviour
  • Abusive or threatening language
  • Discriminatory remarks or actions
  • Intimidation or harassment of any kind

Any such behaviour may result in immediate lesson termination and potential permanent removal from services.

4. Smoking, Vaping & Breaks

  • Smoking is not permitted inside instructor vehicles.
  • Learners may request to stop for smoking breaks; this time is deducted from the lesson.
  • Vaping is permitted only when safe to do so and at the instructor’s discretion.

5. Mobile Phones

Use of mobile phones while driving must comply with the law at all times.

Illegal phone use during lessons will result in:

  • Immediate correction
  • Potential lesson termination if behaviour continues

6. Punctuality & Attendance

Learners are expected to:

  • Be ready at the agreed start time
  • Notify the instructor promptly of delays

Late arrival does not extend the lesson time.

Failure to attend without notice is treated as a no-show and is non-refundable.

7. Passengers

Passengers are not permitted during lessons unless:

  • Prior approval has been given, and
  • The instructor agrees on the day

The instructor may refuse passengers without explanation.

8. Vehicle Care

Learners must:

  • Treat the vehicle with care
  • Follow instructions regarding vehicle use
  • Avoid unnecessary mess or damage

Charges may apply for avoidable excessive cleaning or damage caused through negligence.

9. Compliance & Consequences

Breaches of this Code of Conduct may result in:

  • Lesson termination
  • Suspension of bookings
  • Permanent refusal of service
  • Loss of rescheduling or refund privileges

Repeated or serious breaches may result in immediate termination of all services.

10. Under-18 Learners

Where the learner is under 18:

  • Parents or guardians are responsible for ensuring compliance with this Code
  • Responsibility for behaviour, attendance, and charges rests with the parent or guardian

Acceptance

By attending lessons or booking services, learners (and where applicable, parents or guardians) agree to comply with this Student Code of Conduct.
